Abstract:
In the animal kingdom, mating behavior is a universal phenomenon, and the first step in this process is locating a suitable partner. Hearing often plays a critical role in this recognition. But how do animals detect species-specific sounds in environments filled with noise? To address this question, we have focused on the mating behavior of fruit flies and mosquitoes.
